During my Masters in International Relations in India, I found myself engaging with the African Region through various term papers. The initial aspect that drew me in was the experienced and lasting impacts of colonialism in both the country I grew up in and in Africa. On further exploration, I became passionate about understanding the subjectivities of the African experience. I am interested in the questions that engage with contemporary changes in the continent such as the politics of extraction, the gendered impact of climate change and the often divisive and rampant spread of the internet and technology.
