Saskia Fredericks is a Clarendon Scholar from Cape Town, South Africa. She holds a Bachelor of Social Science in International Relations, Political Studies, and Gender Studies, a Bachelor of Social Science Honours in International Relations (first class), and a Master of Social Science in International Relations (Distinction), all from the University of Cape Town.
Saskia has worked as a Cultural Activities Programme Coordinator in the Centre for African Studies at the University of Cape Town. Her recent work experience also includes a position as a public health Research Fellow at the Desmond Tutu Health Foundation, based at Groote Schuur Hospital’s Clinical Research Site, focusing on providing accessible gender-affirming healthcare for poor transgender South African individuals. For the Master of Science in African Studies at Oxford, she intends to conduct research on reparative justice for indigenous communities in Southern Africa.
