Oliver graduated with a BA in History and Politics from the University of Warwick, specialising in Kenyan history, decolonisation, and constitutional politics. He then spent four months in Kenya with the British Institute in Eastern Africa, researching governance and the evolution of social systems.
Oliver’s career includes working as a researcher in the House of Lords and consulting on environmental legislation and global vaccine initiatives alongside his parliamentary work. He has also developed a nighttime safety app with his friends that uses simulated phone calls to reassure people and deter malicious actors in public. At Oxford, his research will focus on the positionality of youth in governance, political stability and constitutional frameworks. In his spare time, he enjoys word games, football and riding his motorbike.
