I hold an undergraduate degree in Swahili language and literature from Communication University of China, where I completed my thesis on the portrayal of women in Tanzania mass media. My research interests lie in the intersection of gender, politics, and international development, particularly within the context of East Africa. At Oxford, I would like to explore whether international aid programs in Tanzania, Kenya and Uganda have challenged traditional gender relations and contributed to women empowerment.
