Being a dual citizen of the UK and France with Kenyan heritage, both my academic and personal journeys have been deeply influenced by a profound interest in Afro-centric themes. I hold a Bachelor's in History from Panthéon-Sorbonne University, where I explored various aspects of the continent (Africa Proconsularis, French colonisation, the dynamics of urbanisation). My postgraduate studies specialised in International Relations, coupled with a sabbatical year working at the French Embassy in London, allowed me to gain insights into the complexities of diplomacy and international affairs. At Oxford, my upcoming research will focus on the artificiality of the divide between North Africa and Sub-Saharan Africa and how it influences perceptions and treatment of Sub-Saharan African migrants, more specifically in Libya and Tunisia.
