Holly is a recent graduate of Durham University, where she completed a BA in Combined Honours in Social Sciences. Her academic pathway included modules in African History, Human Geography, and Climate Science. Her undergraduate dissertation focused on community perspectives on wildlife conservation in Zimbabwe, with particular attention to CAMPFIRE communities in and around the Save Valley Conservancy.
As a Zimbabwean who grew up close to conservation areas, Holly’s research is informed by her personal connection to the landscapes and communities she studies, and her lived experience of issues surrounding land use in Zimbabwe. At Oxford, she will continue to explore the relationship between conservation and society, with a focus on discourse around and the social impacts of anti-poaching initiatives.
Beyond academia, Holly has worked as a climate consultant and regularly publishes educational climate related blog pieces and newsletters.
