I began my academic career in New Zealand (BCom Economics & IB, University of Auckland), before coming up to Worcester College, Oxford to complete my undergraduate studies. With more than a passing passion for moral philosophy in hand, the preparation for my PPE dissertation propelled my research interests squarely into the field of development ethics. With the ultimate ambition of helping to better define the role of moral theory in applied distributive justice - while an MSc student I intend to investigate how conceptions of action and agency might impinge upon development outcomes. Scrutiny of differing perspectives on action and agency in a regional context ought to better articulate the tensions and sensitives in a relationship which sits at the heart of development ethics.
