Having grown up in South Africa, Che has maintained a strong personal and intellectual engagement with the African continent. She graduated with an LLB Law degree at the University of Manchester and an LLM Law degree at the University of Cambridge. Her LLM dissertation examined South Africa's hate speech legislation in an online context, analysing it within South Africa's constitutional framework.
At Oxford, Che plans to explore the intersection of law, postcolonialism, geopolitics, and international relations, with a specific focus on how global power dynamics shape contemporary African legal systems. Building on her background in law and African studies, she aspires to pursue doctoral studies to investigate the legacies of colonialism in international law and the role of legal diplomacy in global affairs.
