ORISHA Scholar
Bezawit Demissie holds a first-class honours undergraduate degree in Politics and International Relations from the University of East London, where she focused on dissecting developmental and socio-political challenges of Africa and the global south, in light of international economic and security trajectories, as well as historical and diplomatic phenomena.
Having worked within various organisations like the UNECA, Royal African Society, and The Hong Kong and Shanghai Banking Corporation, she is particularly interested in the role, impact, and challenges of private capital, development finance, and policies on sustainable development initiatives within emerging and African markets.
As an ORISHA scholar at Oxford, Bezawit intends to pursue this interest through the lens of agrarian development in Ethiopia.
