Beryl Amartey is an alumna of KNUST with a deep interest in the archiving and documentation of space, particularly within the contemporary African context. She graduated with an MPhil in Urban Design (Projective Cities) at the Architectural Association School of Architecture, where her thesis explored the complex narratives surrounding land ownership in Ghana and how these dynamics shape, redefine, and at times, limit the potential of public space.
At Oxford, Beryl looks to critically examine the Ghanaian house as the cultural thermometer, questioning the manifesto these buildings declare and take on their Ghanaian identity.
