Annie Gishen

I have recently graduated with an MA in Geography from the University of St Andrews, where I focused mostly on geographical topics in the context of Sub-Saharan Africa. For my undergraduate dissertation, I looked at lifestyle migration and residential tourism trends between South Africa and Mauritius using qualitative data methods. I have also used sustainable development theory learnt throughout my degree to assess its applicability outside of Western contexts, such as the feasibility of introducing smart home technology in Tanzania. Whilst an MSc student I hope to investigate the socio-economic regeneration of Rwanda since the 1994 genocide.
