Abra holds a BA in Philosophy from King’s College London, where her studies engaged with questions of freedom, metaphysics, and the philosophy of race. Her undergraduate dissertation explored linguistic imperialism and the quest for linguistic decolonisation in Africa, examining how language continues to shape identity.
She has taught English as a second language in Thailand and Ghana, served as sustainability lead on a consultancy project at King’s College London, and supported classroom learning in primary schools in the UK.
Having grown up in Ghana before moving to the United States and the UK, Abra brings a personal perspective to her academic interests. At Oxford, she plans to focus her research on Ghana, particularly exploring how environmental pollution intersects with broader debates on neo-colonialism.
Beyond her academic work, Abra enjoys hiking and baking.
