Fatuma has a Bachelors degree in International Relations from the United States International University (USIU) where she majored in Peace and Conflict Studies and minored in Criminal Justice. Fatuma was Rift Valley Institute’s (RVI) Courses and Forums Programme Officer and later moved to RVI’s Ethiopia Programme, the Peace Research Facility.
Fatuma is interested in monitoring, evaluation and learning with a focus on the uptake and absorption of research findings, aiming to ensure that knowledge produced is not only accessible but also actionable. She holds accredited certifications in both intermediate and advanced monitoring, evaluation and learning.
After her studies, Fatuma plans to produce authentic, accurate and inclusive research reports and essays in a non-extractive manner that will be synthesized in formats that will be used by different stakeholders such as policy makers, civil society organizations and the communities who she will conduct research on.
