I graduated from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology with a bachelorās degree in political studies. The realization that leadership is a crucial factor for development was the spur for the undergraduate project I worked on which investigated the impact of African leadership on development in Africa.
Ghana has seen three republics collapseĀ since its independence. The scholarly narratives accord many causal mechanisms for their collapses, including political mismanagement, economic challenges, and authoritarian tendencies of the regimes among others. On the contrary, the fourth republic has remained stable for almost three decades. Thus, My dissertation would examine political institutions in Ghana, and how they have fostered stability in the fourth republic.
